Bare Root Prunus Amanogawa, Flagpole Cherry Tree
A very popular and compact (4 x 2m at 10 years) tree for those metaphorically wanting A3-sized bank transactions from a tiny garden plant i.e. customers requiring a big statement from a small tree.
It is upright in nature and if our Flagpole cherry tree ever joined the army, then this is what it would look like standing to attention. If you see it marching across your garden you don't have demonic possession issues but more likely a high wind problem.
Prunus Amanogawa has the Award Of Garden Merit which is similar to the Academy Award but without the Academy bit.
This tree gives double the benefits of any other tree (only when buying two). Around the end of April, It has semi-double flowers which are also known as almost two-flowered, one-and-a-half-flowered and Mother-Nature-Got-Distracted-Before-Finsihing-This-Flower-Because-Mums-Do-Everything. They are a pleasing pink colour and no other colour options are available because this isn't Amazon. They have a light fragrance which is marketing speak for they have to be halfway up your nostril to notice them.
New leaves are bronze which means colour not material. No amount of smelting Amanogawa leaves will make a statue in your garden but If they do, you didn't rake up leaves. Autumnal-coloured leaves are fitted as standard and will come after summer. Expect reds, oranges, browns and then snail trails and bird footprints once on the floor.

Do I Need To Stake My Bare Root Tree?
9 out of 10 times the answer will be no, especially if under 200cm tall. However our article on Tree Staking should help guide you.
Planting In The Corner Of A Garden
Air and light is reduced in this location which could promote fungus and bacterial issues. If the corner is of the house and a fence then you also have leeching issues to contend with from cement and wood preservatives. Also when it rains, that area would experience higher water levels so we advise against it unless the plant is very hardy.
1 Year Maiden Bare Root Trees
If you plant a 1 Year maiden tree and do not prune it at all, it will grow a little more upright and have more clear stem.
Ornamental Tree Roots In The Shade e.g. Behind A Fence
It is more important that that foliage (posh term for leaves) receives the sunlight than the roots.
Have good drainage as water and no sun is the start of algae and other issues.
